Steve Ennis

J. Steven Ennis, better known as Steve, was born July 18, 1942. He has been the manager, president, and chairman of the board of Coca-Cola Bottling Works of Tullahoma since 1968. He succeeded his father, Jordan G. Ennis, and his grandfather, C. V. Holland.

A native of Tullahoma, Ennis is a 1964 business graduate of Stetson University of DeLand, Florida. He attended Stetson Law School for one year followed by two years in the Army. He was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, Fort Meade, MD, and 13 months in Korea. He was discharged in 1967 with the rank of first lieutenant and returned to Tullahoma and rejoined the family business. While still a loyal Stetson alumni, Ennis has become an avid and prominent University of Tennessee supporter. He was a member of the school's board of trustees for 18 years and of the University of Tennessee Space Institute Support Council. Ennis has also had a longtime interest in the city's civic activities and industrial growth. He has been a member of the Rotary since 1968, he was a member of the Coffee County Industrial Development Board and was regional vice president of the Tennessee Business Roundtable. He was also on the Coca-Cola Bottler's Association Board of Governors, the board of South Eastern Containers, The Tennessee Soft Drink Association, and a member of the First Christian Church.

In addition to his wife, Sandy, he is survived by two children, Jordan- now the fourth generation to be involved with the company- and his wife, Ginger and two grand boys, Steven and Landon; Holly and her husband Palmer of Atlanta, GA and their three children, Holland, Sarah, and Palmer III; one sister, Patsy Ennis Wolff and her husband Bill. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, February 3rd, from 5:00-9:00p.m. at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 4th at 2:00p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma. Burial with Military Honors will be at the Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Duane Brassfield, Ken Smith, Bo Henley, Mike McCool, Busch Thoma, Jim Henry, Buddy Landis, Dave Barnaby, Pete Sain, Terry Fitzgerald and Russ Whitis.
